More of the Museum

I haven't got much of anything done as fare as sewing goes. I think the weather has something to do with it. The heat and hum. is bad right now.
The photos are of things in the Indian room at the museum.
This is just part of the arrowheads on display.

More Fibers To Trade.

I decided to do some more fiber trading and I took 3 yarns and combined them to make one great yarn. I took 5 1/2 yard pieces and Tye them to my bobbin and put my peddle to the metal and wound them together. I love greens and blues together so that's what I did the most. I think they turned out nice. For a quick trade. It will be fun to see what I get back.

I have all my Dotee Sisters home now from the trade . I love everyone of them. They are all so different. This was a fun little trade!

A Little Trade and Where I Work

I am doing a little trade of fibers and these are mine. I had to send some of my favorite color lime green. I thought it would be nice to show you part of the museum. This is the kitchen area and some depression dishes we have. I will have to take some more photos of things so you all can see it.
I love pretty colored glass.

What to make with left overs?

I had a little time this morning so I made a journal cover out of the left overs I had from the quiltlet I made. I will send it to Ann the person that sent my the package from her stash and a remembrance of our swap. I could not decide which was the front or the back so she can use it ether way which ever she likes.

Memory's

Hi, I was going Thur my photos and came across this one of my Grandma Rev as we called her. Her name was Reva. I had a Swap your stash package that reminded me of her come in the mail this month. The fabrics reminded me of kitchen prints and curtains. She cooked on a wood stove when I was a kid. She loved her stove and didn't want to get a new modern one. I cooked my first egg on the wood stove and in the winter got dresses behind it to keep warm. It's a good memory. My Grandma cooked 3 BIG meals a day with biscuits and grave at every meal. She was a very loving person and cared for everyone with her cooking. She was all ways feeding everyone no matter what time you came in she would fix you something to eat.

Heart Strings Quilt

I got another binding done for Jennie's Heart Strings. To me this looks more like a kids quilt but I am sure who ever gets it will love it.

It's Watermelon Time!

It's been hot here in the 90's . With the 4th over you think of watermelons, a Summer garden and things we enjoyed a s a kid. One of my favorite things and my family's is watermelon. My Dad and I could eat one between the 2 of use. My Grandma and Grandpa Wilson Loved it just as much! When we would go to visit them in Mo. We would go to the farmers market in Joplin and get the biggest ones they had. Put them on Ice and have everyone come for watermelon. We could never go by a watermelon stand without stopping. Ice cold watermelon is so good on a hot day! This is a little $3.00 watermelon swap in one of my yahoo groups. I was looking for some thing with watermelons on it so I could make something and DD Jennie said she had some pre-print fabric I had given her a long time ago. 1995 was on the salvage so it's been awhile.I quilted it around the design and put a binding on it. I love red and green together! I also made a little pincushion to go with it and then I found some bubble gum and chewing gum. And as I was looking thou some thing in my stash I found the pewter watermelon buttons. I had to keep it small as we had to be able to put everything in a 6"x9" envelope. It's on it's way to Candy in Mo. this morning. These little trades are fun and fast. I will be getting one back in the mail from Cindy. I can't wait to see what she came up with!

This months challenge in 2 groups.

I have been making bindings for 3 of Jennie's quilts they are ready to sew on but just have not got to them yet.
I took a couple of hours to work on my challenge.
I had my group challenges to do this month and the words were Nature and the other was Summer Storms. So you know me kill 2 birds with one quilt!! This one is called Summer Rain. It's been raining here a lot. It can be raining so hard you can hardly see but there will be blue patches of sky showing and lighting at the same time. It didn't come out exactly as I thought it would but it's a learning process. I would do things different if I was to do another one.

Bindings and More Bindings

It's funny how when you are doing things you don't notice things. Don was eating ice cream and left his bowl sitting by his chair. You know it's tooooo hard to put it in the sink or the dish washer!!!
We have had rain every night for 4 days. We have had more rain this year than we have had in a very long time. Every thing is so green and lush.
These 2 top quilts are some DD Jennie did for Heart Strings for Breast Cancer victims. She puts them together and quilts them and I bind them for her.
This one is some blocks she traded in one of our yahoo groups. I think it's going to be a gift for a Friends DD.
I only have 7 more quilts to bind for Jennie some charity and some are hers. Binding is my rest time with my feet up and a good movie. There is not a lot on TV in the Summer so I go get $1.00 movies from the gas station.

Quilts for Twins.

We had a nice 4 th. I went to DD Jennie's for supper Hamburgers and hot dogs. We all over ate!!
The kids big and small had a great time lighting the fireworks.
I finally got the bindings done. 2 of these will go to my Mother for the twin cousins. the other is a spare. We made them from Happy Blocks I traded with other quilters in one of my Yahoo groups.
Jennie has given me several quilts to bind for her charity quilts so I have been working on them.
