I did this for Mom's casket on the inside of the lid. When we were looking at things they had some large panels like this that were very costly my sister liked them. So I did a small version for the service. Mom loved blue. It is 91/2"X8".

Been a way again.
I got a call Monday morning that my Mother was not doing well and in the hospital. She became unresponsive and after three days she is gone. My DD Jennie took me to Council Bluffs Monday to be with her and both my children were so much help. She was with family when she left. I truly think she is in a better place now with no pain. We will say good by to her Sat. Afternoon with friends and family.

Pennie Pockets
I had some time the last 3 days to work on something. I finished these today. I am making them for little gifts to fill with candy and things for May Day. They are called Pennie Pockets. I got the pattern off a blog I read. Called the Happy Zombie. You can get the pattern to make these at
http://thehappyzombie.com/pp They are kind of fun to make. They are also called door hangers.

I got mail!
Hi, I have been gone from my blog for a while. Sometimes you just have to take a step back from things for a while.
I did a trade on a Yahoo group a while back and I just got the place mats back that another quilter made in the trade. I just love them . Carla did a beautiful job of quilting and sewing on them. The them was Spring and I think she did a good job of conveying that with her fabric and colors. I just love green!!!

Elly
I lost my dear friend, Elly last night. She is going to be missed every day. It's so hard to let people go. We morn for our lose as much as for the person that is gone. I am going to try and remember all the good times we had. I knew she is at peace now. Bless her.

My last week end projects.
I sewed bindings on things for 2 days. I went and stayed with Edna and take care of her Saturday and Sunday. She sleeps a lot so I have a lot of quiet time. This one is my Happy blocks I exchanged with a Yahoo group. Jennie put it together and I bound it.
This one is Jennie's Happy Blocks. Jennie put it together and I bound it. I don't know which one I like better. They are Easter Quilts.
In this photo is the other things I put binding on for Jennie. 2 baby quilts, a table runner, and a pink Heart Strings quilt for Charity.
As you can see my Teddy is in all the photos He can't stand to miss a thing. If I get the camera out he is right there to see what I am doing.

A Fabric Basket.
In our Sewgoodfriends Yahoo group we were issued a challenge to make this . The pattern is off the Internet. http://ayumills.blogspot.com /2008/05/tutorial-fabric-basket.html
It's not hard and if I do more I am all ready thinking of ways to make it better and different. It will be good for putting small things in to keep track of them on the dresser or night stand.
It would be cute with things in it for a gift basket.
I love my batiks!!

Working on a Round Robin
I worked on the round robin today. It was very busy so I tried to calm it down. It is to be for a Small boy's bed. So I also tried to make it longer than wide. I added the dark blue with the lime green, orange -red, and purple blocks. I had to add 2 rows. I hope the quilter it's going to likes what I have added. I find it a great challenge to do these RR's you never know what you will get to work with and it makes you think. It is going back to the person that started it so It is all most finished.
