Sunday morning project.

I made 2 of these sewing machine pad/pockets for gifts to quilt friends. They are good for reducing vibration and noise.
They also hold small things you need at the machine while sewing.
Keep happy and quilting.  Flicsha

One more UFO finished.
Now where to hang it ?
For now have a good Sunday and keep stitching!   Flicsha

Pencil bags or cases ?

DD Jennie and I made pencil bags this afternoon . 10 in all . We had fun finding  zippers and thread to match. I embroidered them while she cut them out and put zippers in them .
They will go to the Pine Ridge  Indian Reservation. Jennie saw it on the internet.  We thought we should do a few. We used a pair of stretch jeans . WE will not do that again !! It goes wonky . It's hard to work with.
I don't think the kids will mind wonky.
It's all ways nice to sew with my dear Jennie.
Keep making and sewing even if it's not perfect!!  Flicsha

In My Art quilt group the project was to use the 3 component's Bars ,1/2 sq. triangles, and  a framed sq.  This is my Sunday morning play with the challenge. It's only 9" sq.
Needed a couple of gifts for quilters. I made little arm chair caddy's to hold  pins ,tread, small scissors, thimble or what ever they need.
I also made 12 lanyards for  thread snips, keys or what ever you want to keep handy.
My day was full DD Jennie came for a while to sew and DF Janie came to visit and show use what  she has been working on. We all had a nice visit.

Sea Side?

I found this all ready strip pieced. It was in DD Jennies box of batiks she brought here.
I thought it looked like the ocean, beach and sky to me.
I thought a seashell would look nice on it.
First I embroidered it with a light lavender but it was to light so I  went over parts of it with the darker color. DD Jennie said stop it looks good before it was done the second time. So it is 2 toned now.
The binding is more the color of the stitching on the shell but it looks darker in the photo.
It was a fun play project this afternoon.
Keep stitching!  Flicsha

This evenings work.

After DD Jennie left I decided to sort some stuff in the sewing room. Well I found a jean leg trimmed and waiting to be used. So instead of sorting I finished it up!
So much for sorting tonight!
Keep plugging away !  Flicsha

New apron form old jeans

I had made 2 aprons from the legs of the green jeans ay Christmas last year. The front part has been tossing around in the sewing room. Today was the day I decided to make it into a apron. I looked last night and then this morning for a fabric that would look OK with the funny green color. I found this one with another project that wasn't finished.
I think it turned out cute.

Sunday and Monday

I cooked for Sara's bible camp last year and they had the poorest hot pads I have ever seen. DD Jennie and I whipped up some  on Sunday fast for Sara to take with her for the kitchen this year. Just scrappy.
I look at to much Pinterest ! I saw these hexes trays as they called them and thought I had to make some.
I had a pack so that was what size I used. Easy that way.

This is my Hexie  wall hanging . We made hexie's in quilt group this last month. My strip of 2 1/2 " fabric made 3 flowers. We all had the yellow center.
I need a apple applique so I found one on Pinterest. I love that little apple!

Latest projects

Quick Quilt Saturday internet group had a bucket hat for the project today. This is my hat it's lined with denim . Jennie left me the other fabric scraps so I used them for the hat.

I made a magazine /book caddy. I love this fabric.
Missouri Star Quilt Com. Has a zip pouch tutorial on face book . I made 5 after my quilt meeting Wednesday
I got the door prize at quilt meeting  It was the flag fabric and a red with white pin dot. So I used it for one of the bags.
I think it will go into the door prize bag for next month.
I also made a little pitcher for the door prize bag. Not sure what else yet.
Keep busy and creating   Flicsha.

The last few days work and play!

My play time was spent making book marks for the Summer reading program at our Library here in Orchard.
Some one gave me a package of foam door hangers. I cut them up and used them. Used pages of a old book and my inktense pencils  and some stitching.
Not much cost, but a day of time.

My DGD Kristin has been quilting with a friend of hers . I made each of them a sewing machine pad/pocket for their machines.
And last is a embroidery I did for Kristin but Now that it's on my wall I may have to keep it and make her another one.
J.R.R. Tolkien saying. It's so very fitting for me.
Keep sewing and creating!  Flicsha
