Absent but still busy!

Yes I have been gone from my blog. I took a job and it takes a lot of my time .
The upper photo is of a mug rug trade I was in this last month.
This was a quilt for some friends new great grand son. They ask me to make for them. Each block is something in the family's life. Ruth picked out the images and I made them into quilt blocks. They picked the colors . They were very happy with it.
DD Jennie and I have been making pie carriers. this is just 2 of many.
Jennie likes Halloween so she made table runners. This is one of them. I get to do the bindings on them.
This is 2 more table runner Jennie made.
This is my mini quilt for a trade I was in last month. I called it Morning Song.
And 1 more table runner Jennie made for the quilt shop. I think the Quilters Candy Shop  had kits for sale.

Working has cut into sewing time. I am sewing quilts for me kids and Grand kids. 10 in all so sooner or later you will see photos of them all.

A little of this and that!

I made 2 more round place mats for a gift to a friend. I also made a skinny pinny that will fit in front of the sewing machine and hold pins as you work.  out of the left over scraps from the place mats.
I also made a small quilt ( 10 1/2"sq.)  Missouri Star Quilt pattern tutorial I reduced it by 1/2 .
Last I had to try a origami folded butterfly. My flicker group A Crossed the Pond  are doing them this month.
Fall is in the air. The seasons are changing. I love the cool nights. But not looking forward to winter. I hope we have a very long Fall!
Keep stitching! Flicsha

Disappearing Hour Glass

At our last Orchard quilters meeting we did Disappearing Hour Glass blocks.
I made 6 blocks and miss cut one. Hate it when that happens!
So I made a table topper with 4 of them and a small table topper with one. Then I used the mistake and made it into a basket. The block was a jinx I meant to put the pieced on the inside so  the boarder I added would turn down. Well I reversed it . Now I have a whimsical basket! Best of all I don't have to sew 4 buttons on the 4 turned down sides. I like the points!  Some times mistakes are fun!
I am not sure if I will keep the table toppers.  Maybe they are Christmas gifts?

 scrappy burp clothes.
I made them a changing pad. They can pop it into the D- bag. for a change any where. Vinyl on one side and fabric on the other.
I took Deb a set of 4 place mats. She loves yellow and she has green walls .
Last weekend was a 2 baby showers in 2 days. And a 3 1/2 hour trip each way. It was a over night to C.B. Iowa where both showers took place.

All ways sewing!

This is a disappearing 4 patch I made for my DD Jennie. It will fit on her round antique table she got from her Grandmother .
We made 20 of these. We got the Idea and the rule from Missouri Star Quilt Company.
I am going to make them for Christmas. I will send these instead of cards.
Jennie and I have 2 baby showers this week end. I made a quilt for one of them out of the animal baby fabric so we did bibs out of the Left overs. Then Jennie thought  they needed Halloween bibs also.
I also made burp pads and changing mats for both showers. Photos when I finish the quilt binding and my camera charges up.

Catch up!

HI ALL!!!
It's catch up time. Here are a few off the things I have been working on .
Left over scraps of quilted fabrics. I use them for little pin C's.
I made some very little pinch bowls from 5" or smaller left over sq's.
I did this as a gift for a quilter that is having surgery soon.
This is my Jennie stool. I have a green one so when I got this stool at a G-sale I made one pink for her.

I received this from a swap I took part in . Thanks to my swap partner  Catherine for the sweet needle book and gifts.

Book Marks

I made some book marks for the consignment shop.
Then I thought The library needed some for the Summer  Reading program.  They can use them for party favor's for the party at the end of the Summer. Or when ever they feel like it. There are 33 for the Library. This is a fun way to use up small scraps of fabric.
Keep sewing and making! Flicsha

My weeks work

I was gone 2 days this week so I didn't get much fun quilting and sewing done. I got this large baby quilt's binding done for The quilt shop.
I did get a Christmas quilt top put together. I will post a photo later.
I did 12 potato bags for a gift shop consignment. We will take them in the morning.
Not much else going on here.
The weather is so nice I wish it could stay this way all Summer.

Just 2

This is just 2 of the projects I have been working on today.
I told my DD Jennie I needed a tall stool to use at my cutting table. The next thing I know she left me a black stool with old beat up fabric on the seat. Today was the day. I gave it some spray paint and some new padding and fabric more to my liking.
It even spins around. Now I don't have to stand so much at the cutting table. I love something made from junk that was going to be trashed! This stool has a new life with me!
My DD Jennie seems to think I need jobs. She talked to a young lady that works in a soda / lunch stand in a Variety store in a small town where she delivers for Fed Ex. She wanted a retro looking apron to wear while working At the soda fountain. This is my attempt . It's lined with the pink fabric.
It's been a busy day. I have got a lot of things done around here.
Time for some dinner and put my feet up!
Stay happy and quilt!

This is the  is my shopping bag. It holds everything I need. credit cards , check book, keys, and there is a pocket for my Nebraska passport for the Nebraska Passport Travel Program. I am ready for the Summer traveling. If only I had  $$$ for gas!
I made about 10 of these for the 4th of July. Mug rugs or what ever you like. They are a little larger so you can put your cup or glass and a snack on it.
