Turkey and a little sewing time.

Good evening! Thinks Giving was nice but had to be at 2 places. Sara's Dinner was very good. She and Jennie did a wonderful job. I had 2 helpings of dressing and gravy. I never did get to desert at Don's Son's or Jennie's.
I even got a nap in this afternoon. My squash casserole experiment come out very good. Some times I surprise my self! It was all most like pumpkin pie with a crunchy top with almonds.

This evening I got in a little sewing time so I did this book cover for a winter scavenger hunt trade I am in in one of my groups. We had to make everything this year. In all there are 10 things on the list. This is the something striped. I thought it would be fun to make stripes of fabric. I used a composition book so they can change it out if this one gets full.
I will post some other things when I get them all together.

Still working on Water Bottle carrers

I cut 12 WBC's out and got them ready to sew Sat.
It was a power sewing day. I made 2 of each print so 6 down 6 more to go in this round. I am going to have to take count and see how many more after the 12 I have to make. I hope I am getting close. I also Embroidered 5 bookmarks and 10 more Christmas ornaments. And cut out a chair caddy for a friend. Now to try and get them all edged, stuffed, and finished. Time is getting away with me. I have to work a lot this week so my progress will be slow.
The weather here is nice in the 40's today and some sunshine.

For Sara

I made this tonight for my DGD Sara she is 11 and has taken the job of having Thanksgiving this year. She is going to cook her 1st turkey and dressing. She has a recipe for some fancy mashed potato's she will make. She ask me to come and make the gravy. Everyone will bring other dishes so we should not go hungry.
I thought it would be fun to make her a apron for the occasion. If you click on the photo you can read the sayings on it.
Sara loves aprons.

More little Christmas things.

I made the mug rugs yesterday for men on my list of little gifties I have to have. They are just simple but men will like them.

3 strips of 6 1/2 " in three coordinated fabrics will make 14. And batting for each. I just hour glassed the blocks. I am trying to keep it simple.

These are for guys on my list that carry water all the time. I made 3 camouflage and 4 leaf water bottle carriers. Now to get going on the ladies.

Princess water bottle carriers

I got 2 of my water bottle carriers done today for 2 special little princesses. I put Insul-Bright in them to keep the water cold.
I love these things it frees your hands up and little people can carry there own water.
I plan on making some for all the Arizona family members. They all have a bottle of water where ever they go.
I think I am going to make them for my grand kids as well. If I have time I will make more for the adults in the family.

Well 2 more Christmas gifts down.

Still in the Holiday mode!

I just love Christmas colors and gifts. I love to make things for the holiday! My DD Jennie was sent a letter from Kristin's dorm Mom ( I am not sure of her title) That she would like the parents to send a $5.00 wrapped gift for their student and one for a girl that may not get one from her family for some reason. Jennie has been very busy with working at the quilt shop, bar, and helping to pick corn she has not had time for much. So I fixed up 3 bags (one for D Mom also) .

The cups have a mug rug I made, a Angel ornament I found on sale( I just love a good sale!) very good chocolates MMMMMMMM 2 kinds of hot chocolate mixes and a hot cider mix. On the angel ornament it has the saying Keep the faith . I used a bottle bag to put them in and it worked very well.

I am just working on Christmas gift and hope to finish all in time. Where are all the elves when you need them?

More Christmas!

I made 2 of these. Well I started them a year or 2 before and found them in a bag. The holly and berries were cut out ready to iron on the background. Everything was there even the backing. So I thought it was time to get them done and find a new home for them this Christmas.
This table runner was in the same box as the 1st 2 runners. The only thing it is even older I did it at a retreat that I went to about 5 or 6 years ago. The top was all done so I found some backing and batting and quilted it . Now it can have a new home. I only took a photo of 1/2 of it. so it's fairly long. All 3 of the runners will make a nice early Christmas gift for someone.

I did 3 of these for gifts and one is all ready gone to Jane a quilting friend. I put it in the Door prise for my quilt group and she won it.
I think we all hope for peace on earth!! That would be the greatest gift we could have!
I am still sewing bindings on all of my 28 mug rugs. I am almost 1/2 way Thur with them.
